Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the numerical analysis of healthy calcaneus and broken calcaneus with fixation nail C-Nail. The introduction describes medical imaging modalities. Further, the work describes creation of the calcaneus CAD model from CT images, for use in the numerical analysis. In next chapters, the work deals with the numerical analysis of healthy calcaneus and broken calcaneus with fixation nail, with help of finite element method. In these chapters, the preparation of computational model, boundary conditions, applied load and material properties are described. Two different types of defining material properties of bone are used in both analysis, then results are evaluated and compared. Based on results of the analysis of broken calcaneus, usage of all screws in the fixation nail is discussed.
