Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design, implementation, and testing of Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms in computer networks using MikroTik routers and their comparison with the Cisco platform. The theoretical part describes fundamental QoS parameters, implementation models, and key mechanisms such as traffic classification and marking, queue management, traffic shaping and policing, and congestion avoidance. The practical part addresses the design of a laboratory topology and the implementation of selected QoS scenarios on both platforms, including verification of their mutual compatibility.
