Abstract

The diploma thesis focuses on mathematical modelling of flow in the ball valve in ANSYS Fluent software. This is followed by a comparison of the values measured with the help of experimental device. First, the issue of the ball valves and its different types is introduced. Secondly, thesis describes the measurement of quality of the ball valve through a definition of the individual pressure gauges and the flow used for the experiment. Following that thesis deals with mathematical modelling of real flow of fluids using a finite volume method. Next section designates geometry of the ball valve, geometry transmission to ANSYS Design Modeler, creation of mesh and illustration of boundary conditions. Last but one part evaluates the research using tables and graphs. The final part is devoted to a comparison of calculated values retrieved within experiments and mathematical modelling.
