Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the use of technical diagnostics to identify faults in mechanical equipment prior to the commencement of repair work. The study describes and applies methods of vibrodiagnostics, tribodiagnostics, and thermodiagnostics. Measurements were conducted on the gear unit of a roadheader cutting mechanism and the connected electric motor. Using vibrodiagnostics, a bearing fault was identified based on characteristic defect frequencies and elevated enveloped acceleration. Tribodiagnostic analysis of three oil samples confirmed the extent of mechanical wear and oil contamination. Thermodiagnostics revealed localized overheating of the motor windings. The thesis demonstrates that a combination of diagnostic methods enables effective evaluation of the technical condition of machinery and contributes to reducing operational risks.
