Abstract

The thesis solve with the design 1D solver pressure loss of coolant in the EGR cooler. In the first part, the theory of heat exchangers, design requirements, then the distribution of heat exchangers by categories and analysis of EGR coolers. The following is a description of the basic parameters and relationships related to design and calculation of heat exchanger. There are described used mathematical models and wall functions. The next stage is defined by the mathematical model of the flow, which is applied to a 2D model. Within the 2D model is created methodology solution pressure losses. Methods of solution is then applied to the 3D model variant, which was created from the proposal 1D solver.
