Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with an active cooling system for additive manufacturing using WAAM. At the beginning, the currently used technologies of additive manufacturing from metallic materials are described and a more detailed discussion of the WAAM technology, including currently used methods of active cooling. The practical part of the thesis deals with the design of active cooling with compressed air and experimental verification of its function and efficiency. The design and procedure for welding test welds and the methodology for measuring temperature during the experiment are described. Based on the measured temperatures during welding, the cooling methods are compared, and the most effective method is determined. At the end of the practical part, samples of welded semi-finished products are evaluated in terms of defects, dimensions, macrostructure, microstructure and hardness.
