Abstract
The thesis analyses the characteristic of air-conditioning components and also the characteristic of the whole circuits at simulative facilities. The introduction describes the placement of air-conditioner circuits in the car and its divisions. This is described in detail in the following chapter where we also introduce function of internal heat exchanger (IHX) which started to be placed in the cooling systems of the cars as a new part of air-conditioning circuits. This internal heat exchanger and its functional thermodynamic characteristics are analysed in the practical part of the thesis. The second chapter depicts the simulative facility, its structure, sampling, data capture and software support. The complete list of scanners including production code, measuring scope and the defects is also included. The third chapter describes methodology of testing of the whole systems (systems testing) and also the testing of components (components testing). The results of pressure loss measuring, heat output of IHX and thermal effectiveness are presented. These two components testing are essential for the research of IHX whose characteristics have been found to have positive impact on the cooling performance in air-conditioner. In the practical part, the testing of two types of IHX is described and we also present the comparison from the functional point of view. In the conclusion, the results are evaluated and some improvements for measuring procedure are suggested.
