This diploma thesis focuses on analysis of the new software product of Siemens Company designated for the intersection signal plan design.
The first part is dedicated to the introduction of the Siemens Company, its portfolio and activities in Czech Republic. In addition, the Corporate Technology Development Center, which participates actively on the development of Sitraffic smartCore product.
The theoretical part describes design process and all preconditions and assumptions necessary for proper design of traffic-light-controlled intersection signal plan.
The next chapter is devoted to description of the Sitraffic smartCore. It includes the overview of user interface and description of each intersection design step.
The practical part of the thesis presents the results achieved by using the software compared to results achieved by other ways. This chapter also includes the proposals with the potential to improve the results generated by the software.
The goal of this study is to evaluate the software primarily for its completeness from the point of view of traffic engineer. The thesis also seeks for the possible improvements of the product.
