Možnosti oprav dílů karoserie historických vozidel

Abstract

The bachelor’s thesis is dealing with possibilities of body parts repairs of historical vehicles with a view to the present days. The thesis is divided into five chapters, in which I describe the following: the first part presents the available technologies which were accessible to car and motorcycle manufacturers in each decade. After this part I followed up with another chapter, which clearly states which technologies and material are used to finish the body today. In the following chapter there is a division of repairs for damage of a smaller and larger extend, in which I describe the various technologies used in body repair. The next chapter deals with restoration of the Indian Scout 37 motorcycle body, which describes the work that has been done so far and the materials used for it. The appendices also show the procedure for the renovation of this motorcycle, including part of the stratigraphy of the paint taken from various parts of the motorcycle. In the last part, I described the price levels of individual materials used for surface treatment of veterans’ bodies. I added to this part an estimate of the total cost of the surface treatment of the motorcycle body. At the end, I mentioned several companies that paint veterans. It would be appropriate to contact these companies and create a preliminary price calculation for the surface finishes of the new parts of the Indian Scout 37 motorcycle.
