Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of an information kiosk for an academic environment. The introductory part provides market research and an analysis of suitable components, focusing on passive cooling and 18/7 operation. Based on a comparison of two structural variants—bonded sheet metal and 3D printing—additive manufacturing was selected as the most cost-effective solution for single-piece prototype production. The designed frame with a VESA mount is presented in the form of a 3D model. The system's operational logic is based on hardware power management via BIOS and a software interface utilizing HTML and CSS technologies in "Kiosk" mode. The resulting prototype enables interactive data presentation and remote content management and is documented in the thesis appendix.
