Abstract
Diploma thesis deals with the stability of prepared suspensions and their ability to induce lipid peroxidation. The theoretical part summarizes general knowledge about zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles, suspensions, emulsions and vermiculite (VM). In the experimental part were prepared isopropyl myristate (IPM) suspensions of ZnO nanoparticles and ZnO/vermiculite nanocomposite material. Experimental samples were characterized by specific surface area, particle size distribution, infrared spectrometry, X-ray diffraction analysis, UV-VIS spectrophotometry and other analytical methods. Stability test results showed that IPM suspensions of ZnO nanoparticle were stable, but suspensions containing vermiculite were unstable. Based on toxicity measurement, it was found out that adding vermiculite decreases the ability of the ZnO nanoparticles to cause lipoperoxidation. Toxicity of ZnO decreases with increase of agglomeration rate.
