Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and conceptual design of the locomotion sub-system for the URC and ERC competition. The thesis is conceived as a research and on the basis of it a competition chassis is recommended. Through the analysis of the rules of each competition. And the used concept of competition teams from previous years. Including the results achieved during the performance of the competition tasks by the participating teams. A list of parameters of each competition task and a requirement sheet for the concept design of the locomotion Sub-system is compiled. In addition, analyses of current undercarriage for research in space industry and associated science disciplines are presented. These undercarriage are divided according to the design, hence the number of wheels and the type of locomotion mechanism. And based on the knowledge gained, a design is selected that provides optimum stability and ability to overcome rough terrain.
