Abstract
The thesis deals with the influence of the number of indexable inserts in a face milling cutter on the milling process and tool life. The theory of the milling process was described, including kinematics, dynamics, and factors affecting the tool life of the milling cutter. An experiment was conducted with tool life tests using different numbers of inserts mounted in the milling cutter, and cutting force and vibration were measured. The comparison of the results obtained is clearly shown in graphs and tables. Tool wear is illustrated in photographs. The possibility of using a smaller number of inserts in the milling cutter was discussed.
