Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design and structural analysis of a seat support bracket intended for a pair of passenger seats supplied by different manufacturers for railway vehicles. The introductory part describes possible methods of mounting seat support brackets within railway vehicle interiors, as well as current design solutions used by various rolling stock manufacturers. The main part of the thesis focuses on the structural design of three variants of the seat support bracket, which are developed in the form of 3D models. The proposed variants are subsequently subjected to structural analysis in order to verify their safety under operational loading conditions. In the final part, the individual variants are compared in terms of weight, expected manufacturing costs, and space requirements. Based on the performed comparison, the proposed designs are evaluated and the most suitable solution is recommended.
