Abstract

The thesis deals with thermal cutting of structural steel. The theoretical part describes the structural steels and their designation according to European standards. The following describes the technology of thermal cutting, i.e. oxy-fuel cutting, plasma and laser cutting. In the practical part the experimental cutting of thick-walled structural steel type S355 using oxygen flame is performed. Preheating, cutting oxygen pressure and the cutting speed varies for each of the specimens. The change of the cutting surface and its microstructure was subsequently monitored.
