Abstract
The presented thesis deals with the application of the high-speed water jet for micro-cutting. The work consists of two parts: theoretical and experimental. The theoretical part is focused on unconventional technologies, one of which is represented by the waterjet cutting. This topic is studied in more details. The history of water jet applications and basic classification of jets are described. The area of the micro-waterjet is then described more precisely. The experimental part provides with an experiment which aims at comparing dimensions and chamfers of three samples cut with the abrasive micro-waterjet and the commonly used abrasive waterjet. Finally, the measured data are compared and evaluated. In addition, possibilities of elimination of some negative effects occurring during micro-cutting are presented.
