This bachelor thesis deals with the stress intensity factor and stress concentration factor for elliptical hole in an infinite plate. At first the theory of the stress intensity factor and stress contrentration factor was summarized. Then the analytical solution is done using the Airy stress function, in case of plate with an elliptical hole the function is defined in komplex variable. Finally the problem was solved numerically by finite element method with the software Patran 2014. The results of analytical and numerical solution are compared to each other.
