The Contribution to the Evaluation of the Surface Integrity of Components Produced by Additive Technology

Abstract

This master thesis investigates surface integrity and surface roughness measurement with the Alicona InfiniteFocus G5 machine in the context of additive manufacturing (AM). The first part of the thesis provides an overview of AM and its challenges, including surface roughness, accuracy, and reproducibility. The second part of the thesis focuses on the surface integrity of AM parts and how it is affected by the printing process parameters. The thesis is devoted to the surface roughness measurement process with the Alicona InfiniteFocus G5 machine. This includes a detailed description of the machine and its technical specifications, as well as the measurement method and the corresponding software. The thesis also discusses the accuracy and repeatability of the measurements, as well as the factors that may affect the measurement results.
