Abstract
The aim of this Diploma thesis is optimization of heatsink, which is widely used for LED diode passive cooling in Jaguar Land Rover cars. Material savings and simplicity of heatsink manufacturing will be the key parameters in the optimization process. Moreover, maximal temperature under the LED chip will be monitored, because it must not exceed maximal allowed temperature of the chip. Hereafter, the dependency between maximal chip temperature and heatsink orientation in gravity field will be analyzed. The thesis is divided into practical and theoretical part. Thermal energy transfer and heatsink design methodology are depict in the theoretical part. Above mentioned dependency and heatsink design optimization is processed in practical part of the thesis.
