Abstract

The dissertation work have focus on theoretical and practical analysis and synthesis of rolling mill control systems. Complex overview is on several parts. Main point of this work is to make simulating model of variable speed drives, which is used on rolling mill. This work have part, where we describe simulating model of mechanical bond between stands. All simulating models are created for designing of control systems. They have universal structure, which let designer to make useful structure of designed rolling mill. Big attention was invested also to practical verification of designed control algorithms. Verification of this algorithms on real rolling mill was not possible, so we apply them on physical model which was based on ABB control system. We used classic control method and also new control method – Fuzzy controller. Fuzzy controller is for now not used in industrial control systems. This is brand-new idea. Product of this work are simulation and physical models, which make possible economical, effective and progressive access for design of rolling mill control system. Physical model is specially acceptable for verification of designed rolling mill control system.
