Abstract

Bachelor’s thesis deals with rail transport planning. Goal of the bachelor’s thesis is comparison of current methods of freight transport with the new method of implementation of information system. New information system was created based on requirements of transport company to simplify, speed up, streamline the process and reduce financial losses. In bachelor’s thesis is preformed the characteristic of the transport company. Based on findings, both methods of planning are performed. Including evaluation of the disadvantages of the current system and the benefits of the new information system. Implementation of the new information system is going to cause reduction of the time required for the planning process, reduction of the share of the human factor, increase the efficiency of the use of human resources and leads to new organization structure. All this is going to lead to economic benefits for the railway transport company.
