Abstract

This thesis deals with the assessment of the effectiveness of safety measures on roads. In the opening chapters, it describes existing measures that are used for traffic calming. In the following chapters, it focuses on the selected type of safety measures - speed radar sign about the current vehicle speed, which can alert drivers to exceed the speed limit. This leads to reduction and thus improve safety. This work shows the findings on the effectiveness of speed radar sign from abroad. In another chapters, the dissertation deals with the detection efficiency informative boards on the development speed of the traffic flow in the area for its location. This issue is not probably studied nor abroad. In conclusion, the thesis gives recommendations for efficient localization of speed radar sign.
