Abstract
Bachelor thesis is dealing with forming of AZ31 magnesium alloy under severe plastic deformation (SPD) conditions. The research of the use of forming under severe plastic deformation conditions covers the influence of SPD on the material structure, the short history of SPD, the materials that are processed by SPD methods and the methods of SPD used in the modern days. In the practical part of this thesis I cover the extrusion of the AZ31 magnesium alloy by the ECAP method. First an initial extrusion is conducted. Then multiple other test samples were extruded at different temperatures in order to analyze the influence of extrusion temperature on the material structure and mechanical properties. After that more samples were extruded at the lowest possible temperature in order to analyze the influence of the number of extrusions on the structure and mechanical properties of the alloy. An overal summary of obtained results then follows where the results of the analysis of extruded samples are evaluated. In the conclusion the most important findings of this thesis are summarized.
