Abstract

Thesis is dealing with production of compressed air. The introduction describes the technology of production of compressed air in general and then specifically in ŽDB's "Drátovny" plant. A measurement was conducted in order to determine the quality of compressors. Measured values were used to calculate energy characteristics of compressors and their current status and results were used to offer adjustments and recommendations for the operation of the equipment. Pressure loss in the distribution pipes was calculated and a nodal point from which the pipes would go to individual plants was suggested as result. A 3D model of this point was created and it underwent a hardness test in ANSYS 10.0.
