Abstract

This thesis deals with the application of hydrodynamic similarity in the design of hydrodynamic pump. The thesis contains a brief description of hydrodynamic pumps, derivation of hydrodynamic similarity criteria, application of specific speed in the design of the pump impeller, construction of meridian sectional view of the vane and vane shape. CFD analysis and the numerical calculation was applied on the real hydrodynamic centrifugal pump model for the evaluation of the flow in the pump for the specified parameters.
