Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the structural design of a natural stone cutting unit. The cutting unit is one of the main parts for a saw designed for secondary stone cutting. Secondary cutting is an operation in which boards whose shape is not regular are usually cut. Only the thickness of the board is determined, not its shape. This shape is given by the primary cutting of slabs, which means the cutting of slabs of a certain thickness directly from the stone block. Secondary cutting is performed on formatting or bridge saws, which work mainly semi-automatically. Adequate formatting saw components are designed, taking into account the main elements of the saw, such as shafts, gears, mechanisms and others. It is an innovative device for secondary stone cutting of existing formatting saws. According to the assignment, the elements that ensure the smooth operation of the saw are suitably selected.
