Abstract

PESTL, Samuel. Assessment of the Capability of an Optical Measuring Device for the Inspection of a Designed Component. Ostrava, 2025, Master’s Thesis. Ostrava: VSB – Technical university of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of machining, assembly and engineering metrology. 60 p., Thesis supervisor: Ing. Jan Zelinka Ph.D. The diploma thesis focuses on the assessment of the capability of an optical measuring device for the inspection of a selected component, specifically a connecting pin. It follows up on a bachelor’s thesis in which a fixture was designed to streamline the production of this component in order to improve manufacturing efficiency. The main focus of the diploma thesis is on the field of metrology. The capability assessment is carried out by comparing measurement results obtained from two optical measuring devices – the Keyence IM-8030 T, used in a small family-run company PESKOVO, and the Alicona Infinite Focus G5, located at the Department of Machining, Assembly and Engineering Metrology at VSB-TUO in Ostrava. To obtain reference values necessary for capability evaluation, contact measurements were performed using a Wenzel LH 65 coordinate measuring machine.
