Abstract
Thesis deals with an analysis of the Dual Rolls Equal Channel Extrusion (DRECE) process using numerical simulation.
The theoretical part explains basic mechanisms of grain refinement during severe plastic deformation (SPD) and presents a review about current state of the most commonly used SPD methods. The main focus is placed on the description of the DRECE method. Furthermore, selected principles on which numerical simulations of forming processes are based are described, and the general procedure for simulation development is explained.
Practical part of the thesis is focused on the simulation of the SPD process involving forming of a steel sheet strip using the DRECE method. Individual steps of the simulation development are described, and an analysis of the influence of selected parameters on effective strain introduced into the processed sample is performed. Final part presents an evaluation of the obtained results and also includes proposals for future optimization of the device.
