Abstract

In this thesis, the washing machine dynamics in the drying regime is performed. The main task is to analysis the vibration of the industrial washing machine by using the FEM model and figure out the dynamic characteristics. In this case, vibration is caused by the unbalanced mass inside the inner drum and high rotating speed creates centrifugal force while operating conditions. The analytical part for both natural vibration and forced vibration is calculated to find out the natural frequencies, mode shapes, and amplitudes of individual components. For the simulation process, the commercial software Ansys Workbench is used. In the computational analysis, modal analysis and harmonic analysis are performed. The modal analysis is used to find out the natural frequencies and mode shapes. The harmonic response is used to find out the steady-state response. The firestone air mount vibration insulators are used to absorb the shock created by the industrial washing machine by using the Firestone catalog. The coefficient of damping is calculated by using the Ateso catalog. The results of both modal analysis and harmonic response are discussed in detail.
