Abstract

The dissertation, in a general scale, focuses on separation of a working fluid in a zero-emission steam cycle based on a CES combustor. The subject of the research is development and design of a heat exchanger enabling efficient separation of carbon dioxide from the steam-gas mixture with simultaneous production of low-pressure steam. The particular content of the dissertation is an experimental study of the influence of composition and thermodynamic properties of the steam-gas mixture on the extent and efficiency of separation process by film-wise condensation. An introduction is devoted to the CES technologies and definition of expected parameters of the mixture in a commercial unit. The following chapters describe an experimental apparatus, methodology for measurement of the operating parameters and performance testing. In conclusion, obtained data with achieved findings and importance for the further development of the field is analyzed.
