Abstract
This doctoral thesis presents solution of unstable subsynchronous rotordynamic vibration of the first rotor mode of the 46 MW 5500 rpm multistage single casing utility steam turbineby using a new design of tilting pad journal bearing with three pads and load on pad. This new design of tilting pad journal bearings based on a comprehensive analysis influenceof changes of geometry tilting pad journal bearings (TPJB) on dynamic properties fluid film and rotordynamic analysis. Critical speed, Q factor and logarithmic decrement of the first rotor mode are estimated. The doctoral thesis also presents the results of experimental measurements of vibrations newly designed TPJB which confirms the correctness of approach to the issue.
