Abstract
This thesis deals with numerical solution of Saint-Venant equations, which describes water flow in rivers, by finite element method (FEM). Equations will be derived from second Newton law and law of mass conservation. FEM discretisation will be done using quadratic-linear and linear-constant elements. After discretisation we get system of nonlinear algebraic equations. For their solution we use Newton method and iterative GMRES method.
