Abstract

The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a centrifugal clutch, which is usually implemented in automatic hub transmissions of bicycles. The clutch serves as a control for shifting between two gears. The first chapters are focused on an overview and research of various solutions for automatic hub transmissions for bicycles, with particular emphasis on the automatic shifting system. The next chapters are focused on the design of the automatic clutch and the derivation of relations for the calculation of the switching torque. The calculations are based on analytical and numerical methods. The variable geometry of the clutch movement is inserted into the basic physical relations and the whole moment course is calculated with MathCAD and Excel programs. The conclusion contains a summary of the findings and results
