Abstract

This diploma thesis is devoted to analyse the competitive environment of commercial air transport from the perspective of the traditional and low-cost carriers. First part of the thesis describes the general characteristics of supply and demand for commercial air transport and analyses the traditional and low-cost carriers in terms of supply and demand for their services. The second part of the thesis contains the financial analysis of the traditional and low-cost carriers and a proposal of an ideal airline business model. In the final part of the thesis, an economical evaluation of such model is performed.
