Abstract

This Master's thesis deals with the design and calculation of the new steam gas boiler K11 for Veolia Energie ČR, a.s., with an emphasis on maximizing its energy efficiency. In the context of the transition from coal to natural gas and stricter environmental requirements (Green Deal, IED, BAT), the thesis addresses the technical parameters of the boiler and analyzes possibilities for further increasing its efficiency by utilizing residual flue gas heat. It includes the design of a recuperative flue gas-to-water heat exchanger, which will enable the use of this heat for further energy heating, thereby optimizing the overall efficiency of the energy source. The thesis includes a literature review of relevant technologies, the necessary combustion and thermal calculations for both the boiler and the heat exchanger, and a final evaluation of the proposed solution.
