Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the structural design of the screw conveyor without center bearing for transportation portland cement. The default parameters were specified by DSD - Dostál a.s., Dřevohostice. The search part is summarized issues of contemporary design solutions screw conveyors. Calculation emphasizes to determine the optimum dimensions of the screw shaft so as to achieve the greatest possible length without the need for the central bearing. Further calculations were performed, including the drive, bearing and solidity checks of the screw shaft. In conclusion were assessed effect of sheets worm to shaft stiffness and usage of different cross-sectional shape of the screw shaft. Part of this bachelor thesis is drawing documentation containing the assembly of the screw conveyor and production drawing of the worm shaft.
