Abstract

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to examine how the surface treatment effects the change of material properties of eating utensils. Six samples of knives were used for the experimental work. I used these knives for examining the harshness parameters, which occurred after individual surface treatments were carried out. These samples were also used for examining surface treatment effect on the change in mechanical properties of the material, to be more specific change in hardness and change in micro-hardness of the knife’s material surface. All the observed changes in material properties are stated and evaluated at the end of my work.
