Abstract

The thesis deals with the analysis of material flow in a manufacturing company and subsequent optimization. The introduction describes the enterprise in which the thesis is developed and sets out the objectives it aims to achieve. The following section describes the theoretical background necessary for understanding the issue of material flow inefficiency. The practical part contains the characteristics of the subject firm. A description of the production programme, business activities and asset development is given. The practical part includes an analysis of the current situation in the company and a description of the departments concerned. Possible causes of process inefficiency are also given. The optimization chapter lists possible ways in which the flow and speed can be improved. The final part contains an evaluation of the benefits of optimization and a quantification of the preliminary costs of implementation. The very end then concludes with an evaluation of the topic treated and the objectives achieved.
