Hodnocení vlivu smogových epizod na Ostravsku na provoz letiště Leoše Janáčka

Abstract

The bachelor thesis discusses smog impact on visibility in Ostrava Leoš Janáček airport vicinity. Based on hourly concentrations of PM10 at the nearest weather station from the airport and on the visibility provided in METAR weather reports the thesis determines relation between these two parameters. Relative humidity and eventually wind speed and direction are taken into account. For comparison purposes there is Brno Tuřany airport chosen where the PM10 concentrations are not as high as in Ostrava and thus is able to accept or reject the hypothesis we stated that the concentrations of PM10 have a negative impact on visibility due to increase of cloud condensation nucleus’s in number. Following chapters describe the consequences connected with Ostrava Leoš Janáček airport operation and its financial losses.
