Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with reusing heat from the packing steam of back-pressure turbine that is normally dispensed into atmosphere. The aim is to design a packing steam condenser for its reuse. The first part explains the issues of condensate leakage through sealers to the turbine's oil system. Furthermore, the turbine, sealers and condensation issues are described. In the conclusion, the exchanger is designed together with necessary calculations including the economical analysis of this investment.
