Simulace LDPC kódů pomocí open source nástroje Octave

Abstract

This Bachelor̕ s thesis studies the simulation of Low Density Parity Check Codes by using GNU Octave software. The theoretical part explains the block codes that are base for LDPC codes and also provides an example of matrix representation and graphical interpretation of LDPC codes. Furthermore, there are discussed basic characteristic of program, whole process of installation as well as actual initialization of program GNU Octave. The example offers simple numerical calculation and draft of Tanner’s Graph in Octava software. The actual realization of simulations also includes pseudo-random construction parity-check matrix H which defines specific code. This thesis also describes a method how to make algebraic construction of matrix H, called quasi-cyclic code. Within the simulations it is shown encoding and decoding LDPC. The final part of thesis provides the comparison of LDPC codes with different error-correcting codes.
