Abstract
The goal is to characterize the integration processes in Latin America and to assess relations with the European Union (EU) - specifically the EU's relations with the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) and Andean Community (ANCOM). In framework of this objective are followed historical background of relations and their current situation. Attention is also given to the trade of European Union with those groups.
There are characterized motives and reasons for integration, distribution and their benefits. Attention is given to regional integration groups of the world's continents. Then there are defined the levels of economic integration. At the end of the theoretical part there are defined conditions for integration on the world's continents.
Then is the work focused on regional integration groups of Latin America and their history, and then is focused on the relationship with selected integration organizations in Latin America and the EU. Introduces are the relations between the EU and selected groups- Andean Community and the Southern Common Market, the basic strategic documents and trade between them today too, especially the EU as the major trading partner.
