Abstract

The thesis focuses on environmental quality associated with public transport in Ostrava. The work calculates the results of emissions and noise caused not only by public means of transport, and also compares these figures with the individual car transport. There is analyzed the current situation and it is shown how the air quality would change if the diesel oil was replaced with an alternative fuel. A considerable part of this thesis is the energy consumption by means of transport. In the evaluation of the proposed measures is given the most acceptable type of propulsion for the buses of Ostrava Transport Company and there are also compared the financial costs in case of changing vehicle fleet.
