Abstract

This master thesis is about impact assessment of chip breaker to vibration during machining. Vibrations during machining are undesirable factors which negatively affect the quality of the machined surface and the dimensional accuracy of the products. The theoretical part analyzes chip formation, chip breaker, vibration and its measurement. Then there is a description of the equipment used and the choice of cutting conditions during the experiment. Four replaceable cutting plates from the same material, the same coating and the same cutting edge geometry, but a different chipbreaker were used in the experiment. The main part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of measured data and the assessment of the impact of chip breaker on vibration during machining.
