Abstract
The thesis deals with the design of a lockable mechanism for the armrest of a multifunctional chair, which is a more cost-effective, then the original spherical mechanism. In the introduction, are the types of chairs, and the use of a ball mechanism in them. The following is a description of the mechanism originally used. Based on the required load capacity of the locked armrest, a solution is proposed. For this solution, strength checks of individual parts are performed. In the end, the price calculation of the presented solution is performed.
