Abstract
The thesis deals with the possibilities of visualization using the modern game engine Unreal Engine 5, which brings new technologies to the visualization process. The most important ones are Nanite, Lumen, World Partition and Virtual Shadow Maps.
The first part of the thesis presents the necessary theory to understand those technologies. The second part explains how they work, the third part deals with the conversion of two projects to Unreal Engine 5. The first of these projects is the FEI Building Visualization Project, which had to be modified due to the new technologies. The modification consisted of redesigning almost the entire building, creating the surrounding environment and converting the project to World Partition. Also on this project, an NPC system using conversational artificial intelligence was tested. The second project is the VHV Pylon project, on which virtual reality technologies were demonstrated. In the final part Nanite, Lumen and Virtual Shadow Maps technologies were tested and compared with older technologies from Unreal Engine 4. The comparison was made both in terms of visuals, performance and the actual practicality of use.
