Abstract

The present thesis is devoted to the solution of load-bearing walls. The task was to create a program to calculate the principal stresses rectangular walls, their direction and defining areas with exceeding the ultimate strength of the material, which leads to irreversible deformation. The wall is solved by finite element method in Matlab. The first part is derived and compared triangular element. To achieve more accurate results and their comparison is at work derived four nodal wall element. The entire program is designed in a user environment Matlab GUI that makes it simple and made of input parameters walls. The results are displayed clearly in each graph. The program allows you to export the results into Excel for subsequent use. Validation of the results is carried out on several examples in Scia Engineer.
