Abstract
The thesis deals with the design of the exterior element of a car for a virtual rear-view mirror system. The thesis aims to design a virtual rear-view mirror that will reduce air resistance and thus improve the car’s aerodynamics and reduce or eliminate the blind spot. The theoretical part contains information about the vehicle body, rear view mirror legislation, cameras and lenses. The practical part is divided into three variants, each with a different mounting design, shape, sketches and 3D models. Also, an aerodynamic simulation has been created for them. For the third variant, an extra mechanism consisting of a motor and worm gear was created, for which I made the necessary calculations. The final part of the thesis evaluates and compares the designs and results of each variant and selects the best variant for the specified vehicle.
