Abstract
The bachelor's thesis deals with the substitutability of spot welding with clinching. The introduction, describe current state and possibilities of spot welding and clinching technology. Then two types of clinched joint and one type of spot weld are subjected to three basic tests. It is a metallographic, tensile and cross strength test. Based on the test results, the strength of the joints is compared and it is evaluated whether it is possible to completely replace a spot weld with clinch joint or under what conditions it is possible.
