This thesis deals with an internal combustion engine in a passenger car. In the general part the internal combustion engine, its function and maintenance, especially in relation to emissions and measurement of compression pressures are described. In the practical part the results of emissions and compression pressures of Škoda Felicia before and after the maintenance are described. These results are discussed with specific conclusions and recommendations. The thesis includes enclosures with protocols of emission measurements and photographic documentation.
